True Friendship – Article Series

Friendship is such a broad topic that is ingrained into the experiences and minds of everyone we come across. Our own storied histories of friendship are multi-layered and varied. I have found it an immense privilege to prayerfully reflect on what the one, true, living God has to say about this topic. I have gained much from reading, writing, reflecting, and discussing about this topic in isolation, and with numerous acquaintances I have the tremendous pleasure of calling ‘friend’. God has convicted me and brought me to tears as I’ve been pointed once again to the precious truths that we confess and embody as followers of the Lord Jesus Christ.

With a title as provocative as that, one would be supremely arrogant to suggest that they knew all that there is to know (or are prepared to say all that there is to say) about a topic as that of ‘friendship’. I do not pretend, or want to give off the impression, that my thoughts and reflections are comprehensive or complete. But, as is the danger with all Christian writing, I will proceed to share what I have found as I have attempted to prayerfully think about the nature of friendship. Please join me in pondering, and reflecting on your own experiences, and do feel free to comment, clarify, and/or question what it is that I have written.

Ok. Let’s go.
